The people behind Uber always have something mysterious up their sleeves, but their latest project actually seems quite cool.
They’ve teamed up with secret gig pros Sofar Sounds to put on what they’re (rather pretentiously) calling ‘a journey of discovery’. Basically, Uber users in London will be able request a ride to a surprise/secret/intimate venue where they’ll get to see a rising or established music star perform. ‘Some you might have heard of, some you definitely won’t have,’ they say.
In order to take part, you have to head to the promotions section of your app and enter the code ‘UBERLIVEUK’ before 5pm today. You’re then shown a message that gives you a time at which you’ll be given the chance to request an UberLIVE. The rest is a mystery.
There are also simultaneous events taking place in Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle.
